Tell me about your Homecoming weekend! If you didn't participate in the Homecoming festivities, what did you do? Share pics!

I went to the homecoming dance. It was pretty fun, but I wasn't particularly fond of the music. When the best song you play is Thriller, Then that's a problem. The rest of my weekend was spent working on my biology project. It was so stressful, and took forever to complete. It also took a lot of Dream Theater to recover from the horrendous homecoming music.

How was your weekend? Did you do anything exciting? Share photos!

Last the weekend, my friend, Alan came over to my house. While he was there, we played Super Smash Bros. Brawl. He is really good at that game, so I didn't do very well. After that, we played ping-pong. I epicly owned him at that, so it all wears even (I don't care if "epicly" is a word or not). After he left, my family ate dinner from Oklahoma Joe's, which is one of my favorite restaurants. Last weekend was pretty exciting when compared to my usual low-key weekend, so it was a nice change of pace.

Now that you are several weeks in to this class and have coded one (super small) website, what do you think? What are your thoughts on web design? Is it what you thought it would be? Is it better? Worse? What's your favorite part? What's your least favorite part? Explain.

I think that this class is pretty good, so far. It's pretty much what I expected it to be. The class can be fun, but I think that we spent a little too much time in Code Academy. I'm fine if we go there every once in a while to learn a new tag, or something, but when we spend a full block period doing nothing but learn code, that's when I start to get bored. On the other hand, coding websites is really fun, because you can put anything you want in them. In conclusion, learning code is boring, but applying it is fun.

What is the importance of deadlines? How do high school deadlines reflect or simulate "real world" experience? Give an example of when you met or or didn't meet a deadline that was important.

The importance of deadlines in high school is to prepare people for when they get a job. When you get a job, you will need to work hard to meet deadlines. If you don't meet them, then you might get a decrease in pay, or even get fired. When you miss a deadline in high school, you lose points, which is kind of like your "pay". I meet almost every important deadline because projects are worth a lot of points, and missing the deadline would mean losing points.

Reflect on this quote. Give an example of a time in your life that this might have been the case.

This quote means that preparations are necessary in order to succeed. If you aren't prepared, there is little chance that you will achieve your goal. Whenever I have a guitar concert I need to play, I need to prepare for it. If I don't prepare, then I would let myself down, along with my band. You should always prepare, even for small things...

What did you do this weekend? Share pictures if you have them!

Over the weekend, I played video games and listened to music. That's pretty much what I do every weekend, but I actually went to Best Buy on Saturday, where I purchased a new album. The album was "Mezmerize" by System Of A Down. It was pretty wicked. My favorite song was "Question!". All of that stuff was just filler so that I could get this post over with.

Below is one of my favorite quotes that I found on Pinterest. Think read and think about what this says and then blog about it. What does this quote mean to you? Elaborate! Feel free to give an example of tell a story.

This quote means that saying you're bored is an invalid complaint, because the world has already given you enough, and saying that you're bored is asking too much. Life isn't always exciting, and some people need to accept that. If you're bored, then you can always work harder to give yourself something to do. The world is an amazing place, so you should take advantage of that. There's no such thing as being bored. It's called letting yourself be bored.

How do you express your creativity? Explain.

I express creativity by doing something that most people would never think of doing. Creativity mostly happens in artistic work like paintings, movies, or music. Creativity requires an imaginative mind. I'm not a particularly creative person, but I try my best to be original. I hope to become more creative throughout my time in high school.

What did you do this weekend? Share pictures if you have them!

I really didn't do anything special this weekend. I just hung out, played video games, and go on the internet. I never do anything on weekends, and I'm okay with that. I like to just relax and not worry about what happens on Monday. Some people might say that I should take advantage of my time off, but I'm already doing that in my mind. It's nice to have an exciting weekend, but, sometimes, a relaxing weekend is just as good.

Darn kids these days never experience the real joys of life. they're too busy playing their video games, and having way too much fun. Video games are not fun. Reading is true entertainment, but these darn kids won't enjoy it. Video games are the cause of everything that's wrong with society today. EVERYTHING was perfect  before they came along. And darn these new-fangled machines! What was wrong with the old telephones? I don't see any point to these apple phones. All they do is make life more convenient. Life isn't supposed to be convenient! It's supposed to be harsh. Darn these kids!

Tell me about what you have learned in this class so far. Have you learned a lot? Do you want to learn more? What do you want to be able to do by the end of the semester?

I have learned how to code simple websites. I have learned a lot from only learning a little. If that doesn't make any sense, then allow me to explain. Coding is something that I would've never been able to do before I started this class. I have learned how to do some simple coding, but I can do so much with it. Learning HTML is like learning a whole new language. The most important part of learning it is beginning to learn it. By the end of the semester, I want to learn CSS.

Read this small newspaper clipping and then write a blog post about it. What are your thoughts? How does it make you feel? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain yourself.

I have mixed feelings about this article. Mr. Tapene gets some things right and some things wrong. He is right that everyone is needed, but he is forgetting important aspects of life. Life is a lot of work, and we need to relax sometimes so that we're not overwhelmed. His high school students have enough to worry about. They are working hard for him, but he just wants them to work harder.

Tell me all about your Labor Day weekend. What did you do? Include photos!

Over my labor day weekend, I mainly just relaxed. On Friday, though I saw the movie "The Giver". Over the rest of the days, I played video games and watched YouTube videos. My weekend was kind of low-key, but that's how most of my weekends are, and I'm fine with that. After a whole week of school, it's nice to take a break for a couple days.
